Mirco Oldigs, born 1975, studied at the University of Music Lübeck in the three study programmes “school music state exam”, “music pedagogy” and “general artistic training” in his main instrument concert guitar with Prof. Albert Aigner. He passed his exams “with honors”. Furthermore, he completed his studies in international master classes, e. g. with Carlos Bonell, Manuel Barruecco and Pepe Romero.

His international concert career led him to Austria, Hungary, Great Britain, Mexico, Spain and Norway and includes several Radio- and TV-productions.
Mirco Oldigs has a wide repertoire containing works of all styles and epoches from renaissance to avantgarde. A special interest is the contemporary music for guitar: so he gave many first performances of new works. Besides, he experiments also with compositions and improvisations from different genres of jazz-, rock and popmusic. As a composer he strives for a sythesis of different musical phenomenons.

Apart from being a soloist he is an often required chamber musician: he is one of the founders of the “Lübecker Gitarrentrio”; another interesting field of his chamber music activities is his Duo with the tenor Achim Kleinlein.
In 2003 “ambitus” released his debut CD “Nightshade Rounds” with new contemporary music for guitar; for 2008 the release of the album “Imaginationen” (together with the “Lübecker Gitarrentrio”) is planned.
